The company was formed by Colin Baxter A.I.W.S. after completing his studies to Diploma level at the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in London. The aim of the company is to source high quality wines from small estates and boutique wineries from around the world. Where possible, Mayfair Wines will always try to give their customers as much information about the wine as possible, including its source, the people behind it, its viticulture (how its grown) and its vinification (how its is made). A part of the site will be devoted to giving background information about a wine style or region, including information on climate, soils, grape varieties, viticulture and vinification. We believe that this information will assist you in enjoying our wines to their maximum. It should also help you identify the styles of wine and grape varieties that you enjoy. We want to share our enjoyment and the sense of excitment that we feel in discovering these wines and bringing them to you. Regular tastings will be held at a number of different venues throughout the year to ensure that our customers have the ability to try our wine before they buy, and to hear first hand, in an informal atmosphere, why we have chosen these specific wines for you.
